Holy Week is traditionally one of the moments that many pilgrims take advantage of to set out on the route and complete at least a few stages of the Camino. This year, however, given the pandemic situation, we have received inquiries about what our policy will be for those dates.
Although at the time of writing there is no final decision yet taken by the authorities (the final decision will be taken at the Interterritorial Health Council on March 10), all indications seem to point to maintaining the current restrictions. This means that the following restrictions apply in the Autonomous Communities through which the Camino passes:
- Navarra: perimeter confinement. You cannot enter or leave the community without just cause.
- La Rioja: perimeter confinement.
- Castilla León: perimeter confinement.
- Galicia: perimeter confinement, and movement limitations between municipalities.
- Asturias: perimeter confinement, and movement limitations between municipalities.
- Portugal: border controls with Spain.
Faced with this situation, we ask those who wish to do the Camino on those dates and need to transfer luggage or people to write us directly by email at contacto@caminofacil.net, in order to study their situation and be able to give them a personalized solution.
We hope that these restrictions, together with the vaccination campaign underway, represent a last effort to be able to see all of us again on the Camino starting in the summer.
