Navarrete1

One of the monuments that the pilgrim can find along the Camino is in the cemetery of Navarrete (Logroño). Here we see the facade of the former hospital for pilgrims in San Juan de Acre, founded in 1185. The hospital took its name from the city of Acre, located in the Holy Land and named after the Knights of the Order of Malta, who used it as a base of operations during the Crusades.

In the XNUMXth century, given the state of ruin it was in, it was decided to demolish it and move its Romanesque façade to the municipal cemetery, where it can be seen today.
