Baidu, the main search engine in China, has announced new alliances to offer Chinese users virtual tours of the the Camino de Santiago (also through the Prado Museum and the Don Quixote route in our country).

In this way, after the success of their first digital museum dedicated to the architect Antoni Gaudí (with more than three and a half million visits), they are committed to the The Unity Way as a tourist attraction for its users. And, thus, they bring within reach of their hands the fact of being able to become virtual pilgrims.

Thus, baidu wants to go one step further and has reached several agreements with the aim of creating other virtual routes, among which is the Santiago's road.

What will the virtual route on the Camino de Santiago be like?

Well, we understand that in the same way that today Chinese Internet users can visit the digital museum dedicated to the architect Antoni Gaudí, will be done through an application developed by Baidu Baike, an online encyclopedia owned by the search engine.

Thus, they will be able to travel the different routes with 360-degree panoramic views and photographs with a resolution of 20.000 million pixels.

To which they possibly add the virtual tour with 3D glasses (as today the user can see great detail the Holy Family of Barcelona).

A different way of pilgrimage

It is true that this type of pilgrimage to the Holy gate of Santiago de Compostela It has nothing to do with the real. First, because it is always better to experience it in person than to see it in photos. And, no matter how good quality they are, you will always miss something. And second, because there is a lack of experiences that so enrich the Santiago's road.

Now, if you don't have access to do the The Unity Way, or not being able to get closer to the magical places that make it up, what better than being able to take a virtual tour with great detail?

We look forward to its presentation, and the number of visits it will reach...
