HOW TO GET TO TUI
The Portuguese Way is a route that has been gaining popularity in recent years. Tui, being the first Spanish city on this route, is a place many pilgrims choose to begin their journey.

How to get to Tui
From Madrid:
There is no direct connection from Madrid to Tui. The best option is to arrive first in Vigo, and from there go either by bus or train (see below).
From Vigo
From Vigo, the best option to get to Tui is by bus.
- By bus. The Lugove line 1 It covers the Vigo – A Guarda route and stops in Tui. The best option is Check their opening hours on their website.If the traveler arrives in Vigo by train, the advantage is that the Vigo bus station is in the same building as the train station (Urzáiz intermodal terminal), so the transfer is very quick and convenient.
Note: Under normal circumstances, there are several train routes from Madrid to Tui via Ourense, as well as from Vigo to Tui. The problem is that, during 2026, RENFE carried out maintenance work on the infrastructure, so it's not the best option right now. Even so, it's worth noting that Tui's train station is Guillarei, located about 3-4 km from Tui's historic center, so travelers will still need to cover the final leg of the journey independently.
