What is the English Way?

The English Way has its origins in the Middle Ages, as it was the route used by English and Irish pilgrims who arrived in Galicia by boat. The route they followed led them to disembark in Coruña or El Ferrol and, from there, take the Camino until they reached Santiago. The pilgrims were not limited to the English; the case of at least one Icelandic pilgrim who completed his route in 1154 is known.

The current English Way, which Caminofácil begins to cover, has its origin in The Ferrol, and has an extension of 112 km., enough to obtain the compostela upon arrival in Santiago. Along the Camino, the pilgrim passes through towns such as Pontedeume or Betanzos, and will be able to enjoy the beautiful passages and Galician coasts.
